How are your tutors selected?+
Every tutor is chosen through a rigorous, multi-stage process evaluating academic excellence, teaching ability, communication, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to student mentorship.
What happens during the free Academic Planning Session?+
We discuss your student's academic background, goals, and timeline, review any prior scores, and outline a preliminary approach — with no obligation to enroll.
Is the first tutoring session really free?+
Yes. Along with the free Academic Planning Session, we offer a free first tutoring or counseling session with no commitment, so families can experience the quality of instruction before enrolling.
Can we change tutors if it isn't the right fit?+
Yes. Families can request a different tutor at any point during the program. Rapport matters as much as credentials, and we want every student paired with someone they work well with.
Do you refund unused hours?+
On the 20 and 24 hour packages, unused hours beyond the first 16 are refundable. The first 16 hours are the minimum runway needed for meaningful progress.
Do you offer a referral discount?+
Yes. If one family refers another and both sign up for tutoring contracts, each family receives $100 off their package. There is no limit to how many referrals you can make — just mention the referring family during your Academic Planning Session.
Should we enroll before our final test attempt?+
We recommend against it. Start your program ahead of a test date that still leaves room for at least one more attempt, so a single sitting isn't carrying all the pressure.
Why does AP coursework matter for admissions?+
Selective colleges look at whether a student took the most demanding courses available. AP coursework signals college-level readiness, can earn credit, and strengthens the GPA admissions officers weigh most.
Do extracurriculars and admissions counseling really matter?+
Yes. Competitive applications are holistic: rigor, sustained extracurricular involvement, and a coherent application strategy work together. Admissions counseling ties scores, courses, activities, and essays into one clear story.
How is the study plan personalized?+
After a full diagnostic exam, the tutor builds a customized plan targeting the specific content and reasoning skills the student needs most, and refines it weekly based on progress.
Are sessions in person or online?+
As of now, all tutoring is hybrid. This lets us maintain consistency of sessions and make our premium tutors available to students everywhere, regardless of location.
How quickly can we start?+
Most families begin within one to two weeks of the Academic Planning Session, depending on tutor availability and the student's schedule.
Do you offer ACT preparation too?+
Yes — our program covers both the SAT and ACT, and tutors will help identify which test best fits your student's strengths.
What are your business hours?+
We are open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday, 10am to 3pm. We are closed on Sundays.
